HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
building a D8T Brushless.
battery box from RC-Monster
CBRacing is likely going to import the EliteRC motor mount you will see in the pictures further down.
This futures a block that bolts to the motor and slides into the mount on the car.
One screw into the block, easy access for adjusting gear mesh and changing pinions.
Offcourse the car is powered by Castle MMM V3 and NeuCastle 2200.
juice provided by Hyperion G3 5500 35C 4S lipo's.
Got R Done!!!
Fan on motor, from 55°C to 45°C.
Major update:
Pretty low C.O.G.

Re: HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
Thanks for the new pictures, you will probably have to make some holes to mount the slipperential and make a new top plate.
Re: HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
This car has a cup holder.
also, i tried yesterday mounting without top plate and it also hits the corner of the radio box.
but the backsection of that still has to be hacked, so i'll see.

Re: HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
It's seems complicated , I'll notice the slipperential cant' be mounted on a D8, it's probably the same on the buggy.
Re: HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
Yes, D8 and D8T are made exactly the same in the center.
it's a bit difficult. it will go in the RC8T.
picking up you motor mount tomorrow at the post office.

Nice, i'll go see where that brings me.
Edit, it should fit easy, if my measurement is good.

Re: HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
No problem, here some more.
Runtime on the field with CC 2200, Hyperion 5500 4S and mostly flat-out driving 12 minutes to 14V cut-off.
temps where no problem at all but offcourse it isn't very warm anymore, i think around 15°C.
Now the Truggy has about 2H runtime on it and nothing is wearing at an alarming rate other the the front-center cvd.
but that seem to be the one part on my other truggy that wears most aswell.
All in all very satisfied with the D8T.

Re: HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
Good news , for the cut off you could set it at 13V, it's safe enough .
Re: HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
Hi, Sir Slide Alot.
I'm on the way to make my D8T a brushless truggy, i've ordered the motor mount for the D8 by CBR.
And i'm wondering what pinion should i use with the MMM v3 2200kv and 4S lipo to get good performances and run times ?
About the front center CVD of the D8T, i've experienced some troubles with the screw that holds the CVD to the front diff, and solved the problem by adding Hard Threadlock on it, and after 10L of nitro with a powerful engine, it seems to be still in good conditions.
I'll see with the Brushless motor.
Thanks Alot.

Salut,
perso je te suggère entre 14 et 16 dents en fonction de la piste et des températures moteur / contrôleur.
Forcément, l'autonomie sera meilleure avec 14 dents.
Edit : Sir slide a lot m'a devancé .

Hi Sir Slide Alot, i've checked my front center drive shaft, and you were right !
It is wearing out very quickly !!!
In order to change my center cvd, i've ordered the optional one from hpi/hotbodies, ref : 67217.
This one seems to "smoothes out the harsh angle", in order to avoid the very fast wearing of the original one !!!!
Traduction :

Re: HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
regaring the pinion gears i had falling of, your suggestion works.
Also mods that can be seen in the pics are a associated spur gear on the HB diff.
it was modified in a lathe to fit over the diff cup, as the HB is 1mm fatter then Associated's diff.
And a custom topplate for clearence on the wider spur.
Painted the rear mudguards aswell with flat black.

Excellent Mods again Sir Slide Alot!!!
Your D8t transmission, pinion:spur, must be silent now ?
What is precisely the reference of the associated spur you used ?
I've posted the pics of my D8T conversion, that was inspired by your's: My D8t Electric
Excellent Modifs encore, Sir Slide Alot!!!

Re: HB D8T By Sir Slide Alot.
Less loud, but silent no.
i think mod 1 is to big to be like 1/10th scale, usually cant hear those at all.
89521
e-Conversion Plastic Spur Gear, 50T
that is the gear, but be warned it takes modification with lathe, otherwise it will not fit.

Hello,
Happy to see you finally fixed your pinion .
Your 50T spur isn't bigger than the stock one?
La couronne plastique ça réduit un peu le bruit mais c'est pas forcément la solution miracle, l'aimantation des moteurs type Neu y est aussi pour beaucoup.

Hi, Sir Slide Alot,
Today i broke the top plate that holds the center diff of my D8T.
And i was wondering, where did you find yours, i mean the X plate you put on it ?
I've changed my shock springs for the orange, like yours, and now it doesn't hit the ground on each jump, and the chassis seems more reactive than before.
It Was another great tip from Sir Slide Alot
Keep on going this way, and thanks for all.
