The official Sir Slide Alot tread.
Hi, :mdr:
I made this tread for general questions, problems and all things i would like to show,...
So i have a question to begin with:
I now have MMM V3 + Neu/Castle 2200 on 4S Flightpower 4500 30C in the RC8T.
I would really like something with higher voltage and keep its speed the same as now.
Was thinking 6S with maybe Flightpowers new 3350 cells, and Tekin RX8 1350Kv.
The numbers,
Also I would like to say CBRacing needs T-shirt or something.

Hi Michiel,
yes T shirt and stickers is a good idea, I'll work on that in the future .
For the Lipo I can advice you to wait for the new Generation 3 from Hypérion, they will be great at the best price with CBRacing ! I'll be able to order the pack you need 4S 5S or 6S as you want.
I'll order the Tekin combos as sson as possible, I hope to place my first order during april.

More on the batteries,
Stay on 4S? =>
Hyperion G3 VX - 4S 5500mAh (35C)
Or go 6S, the new cells are shorter and thicker. so with 6s packs height is dramatic (marked red)
at 6s i also need new motors because the 2200CC/Neu's will kill every part in my truggy.
I dont want to buy new motors really, it seems a waste.
anyway, how much would i gain from a 6s setup vs my 4s?
Hyperion G3 VX - 4S 5500mAh (35C)
Weight: 673g, Dimensions: 142 x 46 x 57 mm, G3 Technology Lipo, Capacity and Resistance Matched Cells, 5C Speed Charging OK, 4 x Longer Cycle Life
On another note, for 1/8th scale cars how does a track of 45m by 30m sound?

Re: The official Sir Slide Alot tread.
Hello,
as I told you a track of 45x30 it seems very small for an 1/8th :kneupkpas: or you will have to use a low power set up to stay on the track.
I would advice you to stay with 4S for the weight, but if you want BIG power and if the weight is not a problem you could try with 6S, you will probably gain runtime.

Re: The official Sir Slide Alot tread.
Wait, i asked about 30 by 20, not 45 by 30? still too small you reckon? maybe i'm demented.:geek:
For the weight, i like how it is now at 4.5~Kg for my complete truggy ready to go.
Power, it has plenty now too.

Well, seems like i'll be making a buggy too.
Did you get my mail Christophe?
I would like to get the 4s 5500 lipo's, dont know when exactly.
but maybe you have ordered those already?
They do 192.5amps :affraid:
5C charge, so 27.5amps :affraid:
was wondering how on earth can you charge that much, biggest Hyperion only does 20amps?
can you link two of them together?
otherwise it seems very useless to have the 5c charge rating?

Hello Michiel,
don't worry I don't forget you, I'm late and I have a lot of e mails to reply ..
I'll order the new Hypérion's Lipo as soon as possible, no date for the moment .
Charging at 2C is quite fast I find it's enough, I always charge at 6A I'm not in a hurry .
These new packs are supposed to be charged at maximum in 12 minutes at 5C, it's very fast !!

Charging in 12 minutes isnt usefull, motor needs more time to cool.:mdr:
Oh yes, i blew the front bearing on one of my CC/Neu2200.
i can only find the size it has from Boca Bearings, is 5x16x5.
Maybe you can get this size?
i think its a bit early for it to go south on me, maybe 20 hours orso.
Still a few million rotations, hahaha

Re: The official Sir Slide Alot tread.
I'll ask castle creations to have some bearings for spare parts .
Re: The official Sir Slide Alot tread.
Ran my RC8T again, i had this 14T pinion on it but not hardened.
result of my 6 minute run: pinion for trash bin.
only 6min because it gets too warm, must figure out how to keep it cool. not that it cuts out or anything but i hate it when my stuff is too warm.
I have 2 2200 motor so now i'm runnig the other one, wich wasnt used yet, i must say it seems to be a better one.
Better sound, more power.
Maybe the older one is not balanced so good.

Ok, i have some more info gathered.
45m or so with a 2200Kv on 4s isn't fun, its too much power.
i'm picking up a load of RC8T parts tonight.
i made a small order too. pinions and plugs.

Hi Christophe,
You have any idea when you can get Hyperion gen3 packs?
I NEED IT SOON.
I'm feeling my flightpower is not strong enough to push my truggy around.
Also, your opinion please on doing 6 runs with 1 pack in 1 day? too much?

I hope to recept the new G3 this week, you can recharge as you want, you just need to wait for the pack to be cold when you will recharge it.

Hello Michiel,
I'm currently testing the RDU with a friend and it seems it's a very good product, I will probably order some in my future orders.
You can use the RDU without teh Emeter, you just need to plug your RDU to a pc with the USB interface to copy the recorded datas in your pc.

Re: The official Sir Slide Alot tread.
Yes, i read it again today and it found it, just need RDU and a cable, then download software from Hyperion's site.
I asume you can connect it directly inbetween lipo and speedo?
if i get a RX8 then i just solder 6mm to battery end of RDU and speedo end direct on RX8's solder posts to minimize number of solderconnection/plugs?
On another topic i need the dimension of a losi diff, from the bearing spacing and outdrive space.
can you ask one of your clients that runs a 8ight?
i know i can replace the flanged bearing with 8*16*5 ones on the losi diff.
i would like to get a smart-diff to try, but i need to be sure it'll fit.

Hi, your power supply seems good for your 0610 Duo .
I'm not sure, I think written in the manual of your charger, if you use you charger at his maximum power 10A x2 you will need a 37A power supply but in the most cases 25A is enough.

What do you think about Losi 8-T 2.0?
I may change since it will be easier for me to get parts for Losi then Asso is.
it's a very clean truggy with their own conversion set.
How about those 1700Kv motors? i'll keep whining about that you know. because i'm such :joker: i hope you get some. :king:

Home-made mudguard.
needed:
1-your brains
2-1.0mm lexan sheet big enough to cover your cars suspension arm
3-scissors, drill bit 2.5mm for 3mm tread
4- 4 screws, i used M3*6 countersunk, with countersunk washer
5- prototyping plastic, like icecream box orso
i suck at explaining so a picture will have to do the job

I am a man of numbers so lets see:
Now 4s 5500 35C on the way
5.5Ah x 35C x14.8V = 2849W
if i would go to 5S:
4.2Ah x 35C x 18.5V = 2719.5W
And 6S:
3.3Ah x 35C x 22.2V = 2564.1W
Christophe, your opinion please?

Hello,
in all case you will have enough power delivery but if you increase the voltage your motor will be more powerfull, the efficiency will be better and you will reduce the consumption in A.
I'll order somme 6s packs soon, you will have the choice .
Don't forget to also compare the weight, power is good but good handling is better to be fast on a track.

Re: The official Sir Slide Alot tread.
I would take lower Kv to match setups, 30000 RPM is the desired motorspeed.
weight of these 3 packs is very close together, no issues there.

Yes, on a 60 meter straight i see no problem.
I'm gonna run 1700 on 4s and see if i can drive it on a 10th scale track.
its about 28 meter i think, should be alright.
i took the front stabilisator out and did "the steering mod"
i put a 46t spur on it now and dumped the center diff riser. :gni:

46T on a truggy? With the big diameter wheels it increases the ratio but with a low Kv like 1700 one you should have good torque.

46/13 is still 15.2/1 with the 4.3 diffs.
Losi uses 45T diffgear on the E-conversion they make.

If the crown are the same on the front and rear diffential it's right , but sometimes on the Truggy you have less teeth on the pinion in the front and rear gear box - it increases the ratio, it's the case between the Kyosho MP777 and the Truggy version the STR.
